Vectron International, a Subsidiary of Dover Corporation
Increases Manufacturing Capacity at Hudson, NH Facility
Add 4th and 5th Fully Automated Surface Mount VCXO Assembly lines
Norwalk, CT...
Vectron International, a Subsidiary of Dover Corporation (NYSE:DOV), and a leading manufacturer
of frequency control products to the telecommunications industry, announced that it is
significantly expanding its Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator (VCXO) production capability by
adding two additional, fully automated, surface mount VCXO manufacturing lines at their
state of the art facility in Hudson, New Hampshire.
The two new fully automated assembly lines increases the total number of lines to five
and increases output more than 60%, providing the needed additional capacity to meet
the exploding demand for miniature VCXO products used in wireless, optical networking and
DSL access applications. In addition, the expansion will enable Vectron to introduce their
planned next generation miniature VCXO products.
The 4th line was completed in October of last year, with the 5th line expected to be in
full operation by the end of January at a combined cost of nearly $3 million.
"In 2000, we saw significant growth in bookings and we expect this to continue
in 2001", commented Mr. Terry Ede, President of Vectron. Mr. Ede noted that, "our
markets are growing beyond expectations, and we are only limited by our ability to
add capacity fast enough".
Last year, Vectron committed approximately $17 million to capital equipment and building
expansion with further expansions at their facilities in Hudson, New Hampshire; Norwalk,
Connecticut and Olathe, Kansas planned in 2001.
Vectron International designs, manufactures and markets frequency generation and control
products using the very latest techniques in both bulk acoustic wave (BAW) and surface
acoustic wave (SAW) based designs from DC to microwave frequencies. Products include
crystals and crystal oscillators; frequency translation devices, SAW filters and
components; and clock and data recovery products used in telecommunication and data
communication applications.
