SONET/SDH/Synchronous Ethernet - Our precision quartz-based (phase-locked loops) products deliver low jitter timing distribution in support of the ITU G.8262 standard for Synchronous Ethernet. Many of our Frequency Translation products combine inherent high Q quartz-based oscillators with advanced performance PLL designs that enable communications customers to bridge high quality clock synchronization to the Ethernet.

40G / 100G - The explosive growth in Internet traffic for video over IP is creating the need to rapidly scale the world's IP infrastructure. This has a direct impact on IP backbone network capacity, router-to-router link bandwidth, individual core router size and the performance of optical transport networks used to carry traffic across wide area networks. The Telecommunication Industry on the verge of another shift in transmission rates and how to handle the migration from today's 10G networks to 40G deployments and 100G looming large on the horizon as its replacement. Wireless

The move to a dynamic IP-based infrastructure holds great technological challenges as service providers and users are looking for wireless technologies that offer better performance and more advanced capabilities than their predecessors. Future Base Station deployments will enable IP based voice, data and streaming multimedia at higher speeds. The approached could go beyond the cell phone and provide mobile data services to consumer- electronics and future device that currently don't have Web access. New networks will have access to a growing wave of devices enabled with mobile broadband silicon, combined with new applications offers the service providers the opportunity to deliver new services realizing new revenue streams.

4G-LTE - The move to a dynamic IP based infrastructure will need a significant increase in backhaul capacity in order to deliver on the capabilities of its enhanced air interface and 100Mbps down and 50mbps up speeds. Advances in oscillator modeling will enable lower cost oscillators to be used to extend holdover performance and ensure reliable performance. We continue to work closely with our customers to enhance the design of core timing, frequency and synchronization for emerging 4G applications.

WiMAX - Worldwide inter operability for Microwave access (WiMAX) networks is a promising technology for delivery of fully mobile personal broadband services. Synchronization is important to Base Station operators who do not compromise between speed of transmission, Quality of Service and optimal usage of limited Bandwidth.

Small Cells (Micro, Pico, Femto) - As mobile operators extend service coverage inside a home or building without the need for a cell tower, Femto cells precision oscillator requirements will evolve depending on the application and synchronization requirements. With the emergence of Precision Time Protocol (PTP) utilizing a master clock in the network providing a timing reference to the slave clocks at the Femto access points, Vectron oscillators will continue to provide the heartbeat of the next generation network. Our continued innovations in crystal design and power consumption will allow the industry to continue to meet its high standards.

Public Safety - In the last decade, new digital land mobile radio (LMR) communication systems have been developed to meet the growing needs of public safety. The need for communication inter operability for Homeland security remains the goal.
